Geography of South Sinai
First: Location:
South Sinai is located in the southern half of the Sinai peninsula between the Gulf of Suez and Aqaba to take the shape of a triangle whose base is in the north and extends from Taba in the east on the Gulf of Aqaba to the north of Ras Sidr, west of the Gulf of Suez - and the triangle rib extends along the Gulf of Suez and Aqaba until they meet at Ras Muhammad Which represents the head of the triangle.
The area of South Sinai is about 30,000 km2 and it represents about 3% of the total area of Egypt.
And God blessed this vast area with many aspects of beauty.
It has wonderful beaches that extend about 600 km on both the Gulf of Aqaba and Suez - and there are mountain ranges that are known to be the most mountainous in Egypt, in addition to nature reserves such as Ras Muhammed and Nabq.
South Sinai is divided into three regions:
1- Suez Gulf Coast Zone:
It is the region that extends the eastern coast of the Gulf of Suez and the western border of the South Sinai Mountains.
2- Aqaba Gulf Coast Region:
It starts from Ras Muhammad in the south and extends north to Taba. The bays and moorings are clearly visible in this area.

And spread in this region the highest peaks of the mountains in Sinai, but in Egypt - and many of these mountains are historical month and the most important:
A - Jabal Musa: It is about 2285 m 2 above sea level.
B - Mount Catherine: It is about 2637 m 2 above sea level.
C - Jabal Umm Shomer: It is about 2586 m 2 above sea level.
D - Tibet Mountain: It is about 2438 m 2 above sea level.
E - Jabal Sarabit Al-Khadim: Its height is approximately (1096m2) above sea level.
And - Mount Hammam Pharaoh: It is about (494 m) above sea level.
These mountains are separated and interspersed with many deep testicular valleys.
Some of the valleys headed to the Gulf of Suez, such as: (Wadi Sidr - Wadi Tiba - Wadi Grundel - Wadi Wasit - Wadi Wasit - Wadi Sidri)
Others go to the Gulf of Aqaba, such as: (Wadi Teer - Wadi al-Nasab - Wadi Kid)
